Mino Washi is a style of traditional Japanese paper that has been produced in the city of Mino for over 1,300 years famous for its high quality and durability. Moreover, the Museum also provides the unique opportunity to make a Japanese traditional paper by yourself. You can also enjoy a stroll in the Historic Mino City Street, the Udatsu Wall Historic District. Here you can experience the culture of “Udatsu”, small decorations created in the Edo Period that were installed between the ends of residential houses adjoining roofs in order to prevent the spread of fire from neighboring houses. At that time only wealthy merchant families could afford houses with Udatsu.
