ARASHIYAMA

Arashiyama is one of the most popular area in Kyoto, therefore, in order to avoid the crowd, the departure for is scheduled in the early morning. Upon your arrival you can admire Togetsukyo Bridge, (Moon Crossing Bridge), a wooden bridge 155m-long, built across the River Katsura and dating back to the Heian Period (794-1185). The next sightseeing spot will be Tenryu-ji Temple, considered the most important Zen temple in Arashiyama’s area, founded in 1339 with its beautiful Sogen Pond Garden created by the famous garden designer Muso Soseki. Our tour will include a pleasant walk in the Bamboo Grove, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sound of the emerald green bamboo plants swinging in the wind, and then with the picturesque Okochi Sanso Villa, the former villa of the famous actor Okochi Denjiro (1896-1962).

1) For those who love Japanese art, we suggest a visit to the Fukuda Art Museum boasting a collection of 1500 works from the Edo Period to the Modern Era. On the second floor, there is a café where you can taste special drinks or seasonal parfaits while enjoying Togetsukyo Bridge and the Katsura River view.

2) If you like admiring the beauty of the colors of nature, then Arashiyama Observation Deck is the right place for you. It is located in Kameyama Park, a very popular area for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) and autumn for its colorful foliage.
