Arashiyama is one of the most popular area in Kyoto, therefore, in order to avoid the crowd, the departure for is scheduled in the early morning. Upon your arrival you can admire Togetsukyo Bridge, (Moon Crossing Bridge), a wooden bridge 155m-long, built across the River Katsura and dating back to the Heian Period (794-1185). The next sightseeing spot will be Tenryu-ji Temple, considered the most important Zen temple in Arashiyama’s area, founded in 1339 with its beautiful Sogen Pond Garden created by the famous garden designer Muso Soseki. 2) If you like admiring the beauty of the colors of nature, then Arashiyama Observation Deck is the right place for you. It is located in Kameyama Park, a very popular area for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) and autumn for its colorful foliage.
