HAKONE SENGOKUHARA
Sengokuhara, or Sengokubara, is a district located in the northern part of the Hakone Caldera (Kanagawa Prefecture).
The village of Sengokuhara was founded in 1889 and nowadays is part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, Japan`s most famous national park where you can experience boat riding, kayaking, snorkeling, cycling and more. Furthermore, at Sengokuhara you can find Hakone`s best outdoor activities and visit unique museums such as Little Prince Museum, Venetian Glass Museum and Lalique Museum, which attract tourists from all over the world.
The area is blessed with beautiful nature and onsen spring waters, this explains why there are many top-quality Japanese ryokan, cottages and hotels.
Sengokuhara`s highlights is for sure its pampas grass field featuring a vast meadow covered with Susuki grass swaying in the wind. The best season to enjoy this spectacular landscape while walking in the middle of a wide walking path is autumn, in this period Susuki grass can be even taller than a person!
